Dennis Bovér

I had the pleasure of interviewing Dennis Bover, who can be seen now in Windows 7 Commercial as Jason, a guy locked out of his dorm as his roommate is 'tutoring.' He was happy to answer my questions! Here are some of my other interviews at Caramelitos Varoniles.

SG: How old were you when you first got 'bit by the acting bug'?

DB: I can't remember for sure but I think I was well into Middle School when it happened and I don't think it was a bug that bit me so much as a snake. ...an acting snake or spider filled with lots of acting venom. When I first moved to Los Angeles I said: "I'll be a thorn in Hollywood's side until I reach my dreams, so it's bound to happen."

SG: What was your first acting gig?

DB: In Middle School I played one of the 3 Wisemen in a Western-style adaptation of the nativity story.

SG: How many languages do you now?

DB: Two, English and Spanish. I had to learn just a little bit of Hebrew for the short film Chapter 21... though I think I've already forgotten it!

SG: Do your parents approve of the acting?

DB: Yes, I am very lucky.

SG: I am born and raised in Miami, Florida. I saw your reel, you did one role as a gay 'Latino,' since you lived in Florida, did you get inspiration from Latinos?

DB: I am Latino. The writer, I believe, was trying to show the wide spectrum of Latinos by using that Gay Latino stereotype. It was a comedy pilot with few boundaries. And it was easy for me to put on the Spanish accent, I'm basically just imitating family.

SG: Who do you dream to work with?

DB: Lots of people! Sam Rockwell is one of my favorite actors right now. Hey Sam! Let's do a film together!

SG: How long does it take you do to do one of your YouTube Videos? Which one took the longest?

DB: Hahahaha! Not very long as you can tell by the light quality on some (most) of them. It began with filming me and my friend Malik's comedic antics, so we were more interested in showcasing our funny side rather than our Directorial side. The one that took the longest was probably "Late for Recital" because we shot 3 different endings... and ended up using all of them.

SG: What are some of your hobbies?

DB: Cooking. I like to throw meals together with whatever I have in the kitchen and be creative. And web design I guess, I created my own website without prior knowledge but I don't think I'd do it for a living.

SG: What are your biggest inspirations?

DB: My family inspires me, I want to be able to give them anything they may ever need. Music, nature, people, anything- there's a story in everything.
